SB Energy Starts Up 3.1MW Solar Plant in Hokkaido

SB Energy Corp built a mega (large-scale) solar power plant in Tomakomai City, Hokkaido, Japan, and started commercial operation of the plant May 20, 2019.

SB Energy (Minato-ku, Tokyo) is a company that is affiliated with the Softbank group and runs a renewable energy-related business.

For the plant, "Softbank Tomakomai Akenokita Solar Park," 9,856 solar panels were installed on about 60,000m2 of former industrial site. The total solar panel capacity is about 3.1MW. The plant is expected to generate about 3,802,000kWh of electricity, which is equivalent to the amount consumed by 1,056 households, per year.
