Chubu Electric, Total Solar Build 18MW Solar Plant in Iwate

Miyako Kuzakai Solar Park LLC announced June 3, 2019, that it has started commercial operation of a mega (large-scale) solar power plant in Miyako City, Iwate Prefecture, Japan, May 31, 2019.

Miyako Kuzakai Solar Park is a joint venture between Chubu Electric Power Co Inc and Total Solar (France-based solar power producer). The total solar panel capacity of the plant, "Miyako Kuzakai Solar Park," is 18MW.

The plant is expected to generate 27,000,000kWh of electricity, which is equivalent to the amount consumed by 8,600 households, per year and eliminate about 13,000t of CO2.
