Banpu Power et al Start Up 22MW Solar Plant in Hokkaido

MNP GK, a special purpose company invested in by Banpu Power Public Co Ltd (Thailand-based energy company), etc built a mega (large-scale) solar power plant in Mukawa-cho, Hokkaido, Japan, and had a ceremony to celebrate the completion of the plant June 6, 2019.

The total solar panel capacity and grid capacity of the plant, "Mukawa-cho Solar Park Power Plant," are 22MW and 17MW, respectively. On about 40ha of former mountain forest, 86,000 solar panels were installed. The plant is expected to generate about 19.4MWh of electricity, which is equivalent to the amount consumed by 4,500 households, per year.
