"Triple Hybrid Power Plant," a facility that was installed on the premises of the Sagamihara Plant for verification (source: MHIET)

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engine & Turbocharger Ltd (MHIET) announced June 24, 2019, that it has developed the "Triple Hybrid Stand-alone Power Supply System" combining renewable energy-based power generation (e.g. solar power generation), reciprocating engine power generation and storage battery.

The system started operation at "Triple Hybrid Power Plant," a facility that was built on the premises of the company's Sagamihara Plant for verification tests.

The system is expected to be used for the stable supply of renewable energy-derived electricity and as a stand-alone decentralized power source used at the time of disaster.
