Green Power Development Corporation of Japan (GPD, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) will build a 67.2MW solar power plant in Mobara City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan.

The plant will be built on about 100ha of land located about 6km to the northwest of JR East's Kazusa-Ichinomiya Station. About 81ha of the land is forestland, and 63% of the forestland (about 52ha) will be used for setting up solar panels, etc.

The solar panel employed for the plant is a product of Canadian Solar Inc. GPD has not yet decided an EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) service provider for the plant.
