Sanko Real Estate Co Ltd (Tsu City), an operational company of Mie Kotsu Group Holdings Inc, created a biotope on the premises of a mega (large-scale) solar power plant to protect endangered species.

The plant is located in an area that straddles the border between Ise City and Meiwa-cho (Taki-gun), Mie Prefecture. Biotope is an area where environments suited for rare native species are maintained by eliminating the influence of humans as much as possible.

This time, the biotope was created to preserve Kawabatamoroko (Hemigrammocypris rasborella). It is a cyprinid fish and a species endemic to Japan.
