NEC Platforms Ltd announced Sept 9, 2019, that it has installed a solar power generation (PV) system to a factory of NEC Platforms Thai Co Ltd (a Thailand-based company affiliated with NEC Platforms) and started operation of the system in September 2019.

In addition to the introduction of the system, NEC Platforms will turn the factory into a smart factory, planning to reduce the amount of electricity purchased for the factory by about 40% in total.

On the roofs of buildings on the premises of the factory, 1.4MW of solar panels were installed. The system is expected to generate 1,900MWh of electricity per year, and all the electricity generated at the plant will be sold.
