Idemitsu Snorre Oil Development Co Ltd (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), a subsidiary of Idemitsu Kosan Co Ltd, announced Oct 16, 2019, that it will introduce a floating offshore wind farm to the Snorre oil field in the North Sea.

Idemitsu Snorre Oil Development owns a 9.6% interest of the Snorre oil field through Idemitsu Petroleum Norge AS (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Idemitsu Snorre Oil Development).

For the project, an offshore wind farm that consists of 11 floating offshore wind power generation systems with a rated output of 8MW each will be built and directly connected to oil gas production facilities.
