Taihei Dengyo Kaisha Ltd built a biomass power plant with a rated output of 7.1MW in Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, and started commercial operation Oct 26, 2019.

The plant realizes carbon neutrality by using unused wood as a fuel. The company aims to contribute to promoting forest maintenance, growing local industries including forestry and creating jobs.

The plant is expected to generate 49,000,000kWh of electricity, which is equivalent to the amount consumed by 16,000 households, per year by using 85,000t of woody chips.
