SB Energy Fires Up 3.1MW Solar Plant in Hokkaido

SB Energy Corp announced Dec 2, 2019, that it has started commercial operation of a solar power plant with an output of about 3.1MW and a grid capacity of about 2MW in Tomakomai City, Hokkaido, Japan.

SB Energy (Minato-ku, Tokyo) is a company that is affiliated with the Softbank group and runs renewable energy-related businesses.

The mega (large-scale) solar power plant, "Softbank Tomakomai Numanohata Solar Park," was built on about 6.3ha of idled land. It is expected to generate about 3,792,000kWh of electricity, which is equivalent to the amount consumed by 1,053 households, per year. The FIT tariff set for the plant is ¥18/kWh.
