The company recommends the "ENA Tracking System," a two-axis tracking-type solar power generation system manufactured by ENATEX of Kurayoshi City, Tottori Prefecture (Fig. 3).
The system incorporates a high-accuracy sensor and is automatically controlled so that the solar panels face directly toward the sun throughout the day. Because of this function, the power generation amount increases by 30 to 50% compared with the amount generated by panels mounted on fixed-type mounting systems. The optical sensors and the driving units that adjust the tracking direction are manufactured by Paru Co Ltd of Korea.
Because the system is a two-axis tracking type, the conversion efficiency per area is enhanced and full output is attained quickly, reducing the need for overloading, that is, solar panels exceeding the grid connection capacity are mounted, which is advantageous for growing rice plants. For an output of 49.9kW, the output of the installed solar panels is only about 52kW. This is because rice plants grow better when the time shaded by solar panels is short.
