Nihonkai Gas Co Ltd (Toyama City) installed an 11.7kW solar power generation (PV) system for self-consumption and an 11.2kWh lithium-ion (Li-ion) storage battery unit in its showroom and started to operate them Dec 17, 2019.

The company plans not only to reduce CO2 emissions but also to use the showroom, "Prego," as a shelter at the time of disaster in the aim of improving resilience in the region.

Nihonkai Gas consumes all the electricity generated with the PV system in house to reduce the amount of purchased electricity in the aim of eliminating 5.41t of CO2 emissions per year.
