J-Power Starts Up 50MW Wind Farm in Hokkaido

The Setana Osato Wind Farm (source: J-Power)

Electric Power Development Co Ltd (J-Power) built a wind power plant with a rated output of 50MW in Setana-cho (town), Hokkaido, Japan, and started operation of the plant Jan 10, 2020.

For the plant, "Setana Osato Wind Farm," 16 units of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA's wind turbine (rated output: about 3.2MW each) were set up. All the electricity generated at the plant is sold to Hokkaido Electric Power Co Inc (HEPCO) at a price of ¥22/kWh based on the feed-in tariff (FIT) scheme.
