Panasonic Announces Perovskite Solar Cell Module With 16.09% Efficiency

New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) and Panasonic Corp announced Jan 20, 2020, that they have achieved a conversion efficiency of 16.09% with a perovskite solar cell module having an aperture area of 802cm2 and measuring 30 (L) x 30 (W) x 2cm (D).

This time, Panasonic made improvements to the composition of coating liquid suitable for inkjet coating. It stabilized crystals by replacing part of methylamine, which has a problem in stability in heating processes, with formamidinium, cesium and rubidium, which have moderately large molecules (or atoms) and have an effect of preventing heat desorption.
