A mega (large-scale) solar power plant jointly developed by Japan Renewable Energy Corp (JRE, Minato-ku, Tokyo) and a Fukushima-based company was completed in Nishigo-mura (village), Fukushima Prefecture, Japan, and started operation Jan 2, 2020.

For the plant, "Nishinosato Solar Park," 251,520 solar panels were set up on the site of a former golf course (about 50ha). The total solar panel output and grid capacity are 44.001MW and 29MW, respectively. The annual amount of electricity generated at the plant is equivalent to the power consumption of 13,200 households, realizing an effect of eliminating about 26,300t of CO2.
