Sky Solar to Build 36MW Solar Plant in Iwate

Renewable energy-based power plants planned/constructed by using the Act on the Promotion of Renewable Energy in Rural Areas (source: Karumai-machi)

Sky Solar Japan KK (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) will build a 36MW solar power plant in Karumai-machi, Iwate Prefecture, Japan.

Sky Solar Japan, which is a renewable energy developer, had a ground-breaking ceremony for the plant, "Karumai Kouke Solar Power Plant," Dec 17, 2019.

For the plant, Sky Solar Japan will set up about 97,000 solar panels on 74.5ha of land. Electricity generated at the plant will be sold to Tohoku-Electric Power Co Inc. The plant is scheduled to start operation in April 2023.

Karumai-machi (town) is actively inviting and promoting private companies' renewable energy projects by using the Act on the Promotion of Renewable Energy in Rural Areas.
