J-Power Builds 41MW Wind Farm in Akita

The Nikaho Daini Wind Power Plant (source: J-Power)

Electric Power Development Co Ltd (J-Power) built a 41.4MW wind power plant in Nikaho City, Akita Prefecture, Japan, and started operation of the plant Jan 24, 2020.

The construction of the plant, "Nikaho Daini Wind Power Plant," started in July 2017. For the plant, 18 wind turbines (output: 2.3MW each) manufactured by Enercon GmbH were set up. All the electricity generated at the plant is sold to Tohoku-Electric Power Co Inc at an FIT tariff of ¥22/kWh.

The Nikaho Daini Wind Power Plant is the J-Power group's second wind power plant in the city, following "Nikaho Kogen Wind Power Plant."
