Panasonic Realizes 'Zero CO2 Factories' in Japan, Belgium

Panasonic Corp announced Feb 28, 2019, that the Panasonic group has realized its first "zero CO2 factories" at Panasonic Eco Technology Center Co Ltd's (PETEC) factory in Kato City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, and at Panasonic Energy Belgium NV's (PECBE) factory in Belgium.

PETEC is a company affiliated with the Panasonic group. The total amount of CO2 cut at the two factories is about 5,000t.

At the home appliance recycling factory of PETEC, a 50kW solar power generation (PV) system was introduced in 2009. At the dry-cell battery factory of PECBE, a 2MW wind power generation system was introduced in 2016.
